# Install the Framia Plugin in Codex

This guide covers the native Framia Plugin for **macOS Apple Silicon**. Check your host and Codex version first. The Plugin ZIP is not a ChatGPT directory listing and cannot be installed on another platform. If your host has no supported local plugin flow, use the [remote MCP guide](https://mcp.framia.pro/install/mcp.md) when your host supports that connection.

## 1. Download the Plugin

Download the current **Codex Plugin · macOS Apple Silicon** ZIP from the [official download page](https://mcp.framia.pro/downloads/). Use the Plugin package for this host, not a CLI download or a package for another platform.

A successful download does not prove account access or Plugin readiness.

## 2. Read the package and sign in

Extract the ZIP into a user-owned directory. Inspect `framia/README.md`, `framia/.codex-plugin/plugin.json` and `framia/.mcp.json` before installation. The bundled `framia/bin/framia` is the local MCP bridge.

Before installing or updating the Plugin, run this command from the directory containing `framia/`:

    ./framia/bin/framia --environment prod auth plugin-login

If the user asked Codex to install and connect the Plugin, Codex can run this bundled command in the foreground without `--no-browser`. It attempts to open the Framia authorization page automatically. If the browser cannot open, direct the user to the authorization URL printed by the command. Wait for the user to complete sign-in and choose the workspace and permissions in the browser; do not make those choices for them. Continue only after the command finishes successfully. For a manual installation, the user runs the same command.

This creates a private Plugin credential; it does not borrow a CLI or older Codex profile. Do not paste tokens into chat or copy credential files. Reading this guide or clicking the Codex Plugin install control does not itself start the bundled login. The local bridge does not use the old host **Authenticate** button.

## 3. Install and verify in Codex

Register the extracted `framia/` folder in a user-local Codex marketplace, then install Framia through the host's supported Plugin flow. The [official local Plugin instructions](https://developers.openai.com/plugins/build/plugins#install-a-local-plugin-manually) show the marketplace catalog format. On Codex versions that expose the CLI, inspect `codex plugin --help` and `codex plugin marketplace --help`; the marketplace source must point to a local catalog whose Framia entry points to the extracted folder. In the desktop app, select that marketplace in the Plugins Directory and install Framia. Preserve any existing Plugin and connection settings until the new one is verified.

Open a **new chat**, confirm Framia's tools are available, and list your projects or resources with a read-only call. Plugin installation, browser consent, loaded tools and a successful list call are separate checks. Do not use a paid generation task as an installation test. If authorization fails, use the Plugin's explicit login flow; if tools are missing, inspect Plugin enablement and start one fresh chat before diagnosing further.

This Markdown is public guidance, not an installer or an authorization grant. It cannot change the release manifest, OAuth registration, workspace permissions or billing rules. Do not use sudo, pipe a download into a shell, disable TLS, or overwrite unrelated configuration.
